FALL WINTER 2012 2013 FASHION TRENDS

After having reviewed my favourite Fall and Winter 2012 2013 collections for the past few weeks I would like to summarize the main fashion trends for the coming seasons. So in this post I have collected not only the main trends among the Runway collections I have reviewed but also other ones which are going to be very popular.

OVERSIZED
This trend covers everything from coats, tops as well as trousers. Now, if you are already petite like me, you might want to either skip this trend or else follow it carefully not to disappear completely in oversized garments.

Max Mara

MILITARY STYLE & ARMY GREEN
Various fashion designers this year have been inspired by military clothes for their collections including Max Mara which I reviewed few weeks ago.

FLORALS
Although we normally associate these with Spring and Summer, this year we will see them and be able to wear them also during the colder months. Designers like Erdem, Cacharel and Jill Stuart featured them in their collections.

LEATHER
And we are not talking about the black leather trousers or leggings we are already used to, but coloued leather and leather skirts and coats. Erdem, Rebecca Minkoff, Chloe, Max Mara and Calvin Klein featured leather in their collections.

FUR COATS
These are not only stylish but I guess they also do a great job at keeping you warm in the colder temperatures. Elie Saab and Christian Dior have beautiful looks featuring them.

Elie Saab

PRINTED SUITS
Monochrome solid colour suits were over the FW 2012 2013 Runway including Elie Saab, Erdem, Matthew Williamson and Christian Dior. However, we will also be seeing lots of printed suits from top to bottom which are definitely not my favourite trend.

ORIENTAL FASHION
Oriental style with luxurious fabrics, lots of details, unusual colours and perfect tailoring are another trend for the colder months.

SLIM FIT PANTS
These can be worn with flats including loafers as well as with pumps, depending on which look you want to achieve. Many stylists featured these including Jill Stuart and Matthew Williamson.

PEPLUM
This trend is here to stay and I am very happy because I still have to try it and I am looking forward to. Almost every stylist I reviewed featured some kind of peplum including Burberry, Christian Dior, Rebecca Taylor and Elie Saab.

GLOVES
From short to super long, these are going to be super popular. Check Burberry

Burberry

VELVET
Perfect fabric for Winter. Check Burberry.

HATS
If you are into hats you should check Max Mara.

Max Mara

INTRICATE SHAPES
Different and unusual silhouette have been spotted on the Runway and to feature them were designers like Chloe and Chanel.

Other trends which I have read about are the colour lavender, checked prints, roll necks and puffed/quilted jackets and knitwear.

Which is your favourite trend for the coming seasons? You can write it in the comments below or add ones I did not mention.
