This collection to me has an English countryside feel. Certain looks remind me of the novel Little Women. And it almost feels like the entire collection has been created just to dress the characters of a film set in the past. However, because it is so different and non contemporary I believe it will appeal to all those women who like to transform themselves through the clothes they wear. Wearing one of this outfits will make you feel as stepping back in the past by let's say a century.
Another way to interpret this collection is to think about it as what we would wear if relocating to a small rural American city after accepting an important position in the legal, medical or business field. It's also the perfect look for the Mayor of a small but important historical city.
Anyway, the Burberry Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection really triggers my imagination and although very Winter appropriate, with darker and deeper colours as well as heavier fabrics like tweed and corduroy, is everything but definitely not usual, repetitive or boring!
Below are some of the characteristics and details of this collection which I would like to point out. These can be taken as inspiration when planning your looks for the next season.
- Medium large belts with bows worn over short and long coats
- Dark wide stripes on skirts and tops
- Very large pockets on skirts and coats, almost peplum style
- Many woolen hats
- Double breasted jackets
- High waisted below the knee skirts
- Browns, mustards, dark yellows, khaki, greens, maroon, black, plum and burgundy
- Puffed jackets cinched in with skinny belts
- Peplum style coats and jackets
- Suede, velvet and corduroy
- Coloured gloves
- Oblong bags
- Peplum Skirts
- Pointed booties
I loved the show, especially the ending. If you haven't watched it yet you should definitely do so. Below is the link.
So did you like this collection? Or is too old and rural for your style? Are you willing to incorporate any of the above characteristics in your coming Winter looks? If yes which ones? Let me know in the comments below.
