Mauritius Honeymoon.....or Christmas Break......

This beautiful island in the middle of the Indian Ocean is 7 hours far from Dubai and is also quiet close to South Africa. Its location is between the beautiful Maldives and the unspoiled Seychelles.

Why Mauritius and not Maldives or Seychelles?

Mauritius offers you much more. Maldives is a dreamy location but it only has sea, very few excursions and sightseeing options, not as much mountains and breathtaking scenery as Mauritius. If you go to Maldives you will have to travel mostly by boat. In Mauritius you can be driven around in the comfort of a luxury car.

And Seychelles is all about unspoiled nature. It is great if you want to be on your own and have no contact with local people. Very few activities to do. Mauritius on the other side offers you the spectacular sea, mountains, waterfalls, religious temples, open air excursions, dreamy resorts, great food, contact with local people if you want it and the most friendly and helpful people I have met.

What about prices?

If you have chosen an exotic destination I am sure you have a medium high budget for your honeymoon. After all, this is a one time occasion. Mauritius offers you a good choice of accommodation from lower budget to very exclusive and luxurious hotels and resorts. Prices on the island for food and shopping are quiet low. The ideal is to go All Inclusive or at least Half Board if you are looking to save. Excursions can be expensive if you chose a private guide excursion but you can catch a taxi and tour the island on your own if you want to spend less.

My Recommendations.....

In terms of accommodation, I would suggest Les Pavillons if you have a lower budget but still want great location and some luxury. For higher budgets, choose Constance Le Prince Maurice. It will leave you speechless......

The best excursions are the private tour Mystical South excursion. If you want to go on your own don't miss Chamarel Waterfalls, Chamarel Coloured Earths, Grand Bassin, Tou aux Cerfs, Pamplemousse Botanica Garden and the capital Port Louis.

For a twin destination I would suggest Dubai, South Africa or India.
