Denim - Spring Summer 2013

Denim is the one item which never goes out of style. Hence, we can always wear it - morning and evening as well as Summer and Winter. However, one can still purchase denim pieces which are more suitable for warmer months and others which are best worn during Fall and Winter. In this post I want to share with you my favourite denim pieces for this Spring and Summer.

In terms of denim trends for this season I would say that apart from the usual blue denim -whether light or dark wash- coloured denim is very in. It has been popular for several seasons. You can opt for pastel coloured denim or brighter denim. Another denim trend which is big this season is printed denim -floral, polka dots, ethnic prints were seen on the runway but can also be found in most High Street shops.

If you don't see any necklace from your favourite shop featured in this post, keep an eye for future posts. In fact, I have a Miss Selfridge and a Topshop necklaces posts coming soon.

In terms of necklaces trends, I feel this season is all about statement necklaces in either bright colours or metallic ones, with a mix of tribal and futuristic designs.

SPRING SUMMER 2013 BAGS TRENDS......Totes (Part 1)

Bags are one of my passions. I could spend hours and hours staring at them in shops. I am always good at controlling my instincts when shopping. But if I think about it, each time I have engaged in impulse purchases,  I almost always ended up home with a new bag. I love purchasing one bag each season, and since I do not buy designer bags it's not like I am breaking the bank. I would obviously love to own all of the bags below. Who wouldn't? But they are definitely over my budget. For those of you who can afford buying them here is a collection of my favourite large bags/totes for the coming seasons. I am sure you can agree with me that they are stunning. And for those of you who do not buy designer bags, you can always take the inspiration and try to shop the trends by finding similar bags at bargain prices.

As you can see above, pastels are very in this Summer. The IT coulour seems to be mint and pistachio green. Light dusty pinks and cream as well as nudes were also everywhere on the runway. Givenchy on the other hand played with brighter colours. So whether you are looking for a modern and bright large bag or a more ladylike romantic one, I am sure you can find your favourite among the above 10 totes.

If I had to choose one among the above, it would be either the Valentino or the Fendi tote. What about you? Which of the above handbag would you choose if you could get one for free?

Waiting for Spring....

I don't know about you but I am extremely excited about Spring. I can't believe Spring will start in 10 days. This is definitely my favourite period of the year. The weather is starting to warm up and the days are sunny, brighter and longer. I am already day dreaming about all the outfits pairings I can come up with, now that the weather allows light layering. I can't wait to start going for long strolls along the coast or visit small villages and their local markets.

Around this time of the year my husband and I love going out early, especially during the weekend, buying a sweet pastry for breakfast and eat it somewhere nice before we go for a walk. This is also the perfect time of the year for picnics, jogging, family outings, shopping and dining outdoors. And it's also Easter time which is the perfect holiday for all those of us who love chocolate and figolli. I also believe that Spring is the perfect season for getting inspired and being creative.

While I am waiting for Spring, I decided to share few PRE-SPRING posts with you. These will range from outfits inspiration boards, outfit of the day pictures, recipes, fashion trends and much more. I hope you enjoy these months which are going to follow and make the most out of them, especially if you like me live in a country where Winters are cold and Summers are extremely hot.

FALL WINTER 2012 2013 NAILS TRENDS

I decided to finish my Runway Trends series of posts with nails. Although I already made a post on my Fall nail polishes haul ,where I also briefly talked about my favourite shades for the season, I wanted to give you some insight into  nail colours were seen on the Fall Winter Runway for this year. Below the nail polish trends I spotted on the runway, which I think are worth trying.

LOOK 1: CREAMY NUDES
Herve Leger

Elie Saab

Jason Wu

LOOK 2: SHADES OF BLUE
Blue was a popular colour on the Runway. Stylists like Anna Sui, Alberta Ferretti, Erdem, Balenciaga, Carven, Celine, Giorgio Armani and Chanel presented various looks in this shade. Anna Sui took the blue to a further level by incorporating it in her models' makeup. No wonder why blue seems to be also popular on nails. Below you can see three examples.

Used by Rebecca Taylor

Anna Sui

Deep navy

LOOK 3: FRENCH MANICURE
French tips on the nails seem very in this season, but they come with a twist. Rather than the classic white or french pink tip go for darker tips like wine and deep reds as well as black lace tips and also metallic ones.

Metallic silver French tip

Maroon French tip

Lace French tip

LOOK 4: DEEP REDS
Since these shades are so in for what concerns clothes, shoes, accessories and makeup we must wear them on our nails too.

LOOK 5: REVERSE FRENCH TIP
If you are bored of wearing the same nail look and want to try something new and fun you should go for a reverse French nail look. Choose the colours you prefer and have fun playing with this trend.

Chanel Haute Couture

LOOK 6: LIGHT, METALLIC & DARKER GREY
I think this is a very appropriate nail look for the Winter. It's not as dark as wearing black on your nails and you can go as light and as dark as you prefer by wearing either a very light shade of grey, like the one worn by Chanel ready to wear models, or go for more charcoal greys which I really like.

Chanel Ready to Wear

Alice & Olivia

Which is your favourite nail trend for the current season? I must say I really like them all, apart from the bright blue. Let me know in the comments below.

FALL WINTER 2012 2013 ACCESSORIES TRENDS

Lately I have really been into stud earrings and chunky necklaces. I think the most important concept when accessorizing your outfit is to keep it balanced. If you are going for big, chunky or long earrings you should minimize on your necklace and sometimes you should also skip it and wear some bracelets. Vice versa, if you were to wear a big necklace you should keep your earrings understated. Bracelets are not as much affected by the earrings and necklace your are wearing because they are not as close as the previous two. Of course, how much understated you want to go with your accessories also depends on your style in general and how bold you like to be with your looks.

Lately, I have been seeing lots of statement necklaces including collar necklaces and big chunky necklaces made of various materials and different colours. This trend is here to stay and necklaces this Fall and Winter are still big and bold. They are perfect to wear when you want to transform your outfit from simple to stylish. I love wearing my statement necklaces when I want to dress up an outfit and feel chic. Many statement necklaces are also very edgy and will therefore provide an easy way to introduce some edginess into your looks. Below are my favourite necklaces from the Fall and Winter 2012 2013 Runway.

                           Matthew Williamson                                                    Dior

Cacharel

                                       Erdem                                                             Moschino

Chanel

For what concerns bracelets I personally prefer smaller ones because I am petite and I don't want my arms to look shorter than they are. But I have been wanting to try metallic cuffs for a long time. And this Fall and Winter might be the right time since they are still on trend. Below are my favourite designer bracelets for the coming seasons.

Benah

Alexander Mc Queen

Salvatore Ferragamo

Fendi

Chanel

Maison Martin Margiela

As I already said in the beginning I love stud earrings. I think they are cute but can also complement an outfit by tying with the style. They can be girly, fun, elegant and modern depending on the colours, shapes and materials they are made of. It's been a long time since I used to wear long and dangly or chunky earrings and I have never been into hoop earrings. So I will keep on wearing my studs and try to find new ones I like. For those of you who prefer bigger statement earrings, you can check Dolce Gabbana Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection since it's full of rich and super detailed earrings.

Dolce & Gabbana

In order for this blog post to be complete I must write about my favourite watches for the current season. Watches have been one of my passion lately. I really enjoy looking around jewellerries and this is one habit my husband and I share. Plus I really need to get a watch since I really don't own a nice one. The problem is that  I haven't seen one which I really love and I am willing to spend that much money on. And the cheaper watches are just not that good looking in my eyes. Below are my three favourite watches from this season collections.

Michael Kors

I really would love it if you would share in the comments your favourite jewellery trends for this Fall and Winter.
