Spring Summer 2013 Earrings

If you read my OOTD posts you might know that I only wear studs. Earrings have always been my favourite jewellery piece. I can definitely leave the house without a necklace and a bracelet as long as I have my earrings on. For years and years I have worn long chandelier earrings but during the past 3 years I have only worn stud earrings. I feel that because I am petite and I wear glasses, larger and longer earrings can overpower my face. Plus, I see studs as more modern and edgy although they can also be very classy and put together, especially pearls. And that's exactly what my fashion style is - a mix of classic, modern, edgy pieces with unique details. So after spending few hours browsing online for this season earrings I reduced my favourites to the ones below. Let me know in the comments if you too prefer stud earrings over larger and dangly ones.

Denim - Spring Summer 2013

Denim is the one item which never goes out of style. Hence, we can always wear it - morning and evening as well as Summer and Winter. However, one can still purchase denim pieces which are more suitable for warmer months and others which are best worn during Fall and Winter. In this post I want to share with you my favourite denim pieces for this Spring and Summer.

In terms of denim trends for this season I would say that apart from the usual blue denim -whether light or dark wash- coloured denim is very in. It has been popular for several seasons. You can opt for pastel coloured denim or brighter denim. Another denim trend which is big this season is printed denim -floral, polka dots, ethnic prints were seen on the runway but can also be found in most High Street shops.

Last week I shared with you my favourite Runway Necklaces for Spring and Summer 2013. Today, I want to share some more affordable necklaces. If you don't see any necklace from your favourite shop featured in this post, keep an eye for future posts. In fact, I have a Miss Selfridge and a Topshop necklaces posts coming soon.

In terms of necklaces trends, I feel this season is all about statement necklaces in either bright colours or metallic ones, with a mix of tribal and futuristic designs.

Best Blazers & Jackets for SPRING 2013

Spring is the perfect season to layer with lighter jackets and blazers. I love the look of a dark or bright pair of jeans or trousers worn with either a casual t-shirt or a nicer top under a light or bright blazer. This look is very versatile and can be quickly turned from day to night. Plus, blazers are the perfect clothing piece for work whether worn with a pair of sleek trousers or a smart pencil skirt. Below are my favourite jackets and blazers for this season. They are all High Street pieces, and thus quiet affordable.

If you like what you see, and would like to get more ideas on how to pair the blazers and jackets above and below check the rest of my blog. I have already posted few inspiration looks featuring some of these jackets and will post more in the coming weeks. Below are four other great blazers I recently spotted online.

Christmas Holidays Dresses: High Street Picks

After my High End Gifts for Her & Him post, I thinks it's now the right time (since it's December 1st) to write a post or two about my favourite dresses for the coming Christmas and New Year parties. This year I have decided to write 2 separate posts, one featuring more budget friendly dresses and another featuring amazing designer dresses. The reason behind my decision was, that although I like many other people who are looking for one or more dresses might not afford the more expensive ones or might not want to spend that amount of money on a dress, there are women who will choose those expensive dresses. Plus, featuring those amazing dresses on my blog is another way for me to day dream about fashion. So let's get started with my HIGH STREET HOLIDAY DRESSES PICKS.....

The 7 dresses below go from lowest to highest price. Many of my picks are either all black or have black details, simply because I love black in Winter and I think it's the easiest way to look put together, elegant, classy and chic. Moreover, black makes us look leaner and taller and might be a good way to cover the effects of holiday indulging eating. I also included a gold dress, a silver one, a berry one since deep reds are my favourite colour for the colder months and a red one for those of you who really want to feel festive this season.  Most of the dresses have some kind of embellishment, either sequins, stones, jewels or lace since these details make a dress more interesting in my opinion and also help achieve a more dressed up look.

Stradivarius Embellished Dress @ 45.95 (see it here)

Oasis Textured Sequin Dress @ 50 pounds (see it here)

Jane Norman Gold Lurex Skater Dress @ 50 pounds (see it here)

Next Berry Sequin Dress @ 50 pounds (see it here)

Miss Selfridge Brocade Detail Dress @ 55 pounds (see it here)

Zara Red Pleated Dress with Jewelled Collar @ $99 (see it here)

Mango Contrasted Sequin Velvet Dress @ 89.99 euros (see it here)

From the above I would definitely wear the second one for a more relaxed New Year's Eve, the last one for a fancy New Year's Eve party, the berry one for a fancy Christmas dinner with the family and the red one for a Christmas Eve dinner in a fancy restaurant.

Which is your favourite pick? Do you have a dress for Christmas eve, day and New Year's Eve and Day?
