Natural Makeup for Spring.......with Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

Each year, the warmer seasons tend to feature brighter colours. This season in particular is all about mixing pastels together. as well as wearing popping colours. I am sure that you (as me) are all excited about pairing coloured pieces together and wearing them out to feel great after a cold and dull winter. But with all the colour on our clothes, it is advisable to keep the makeup more natural. A lighter face will also mean higher comfort when the temperatures start raising, and will help us maintain a fresh and polished look without too much effort even during the hottest months. The following makeup look is both natural and light.

Products on my face.....
QV Moisturizing Day Cream with SPF 30
La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ Sun Protection (for Sun Intolerant Skin)
Maybelline Affinitone Concealer
Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream with SPF 42 in shade 23 Natural Beige (a very light application)
Missha Golden Rose Blush in 208
3 shades of brown from my BC eyeshadow palette (a light brown on the entire lid, a medium brown on the crease and a dark brown to line my upper and lower lashes)
Deborah Milano Volume Mascara (a very light application on the upper lashes only)
QV lip Balm with SPF 30

This makeup looks also good when worn with glasses, especially if they are frameless like the one I am wearing below (which are by Moschino for those interested).

A quick review of Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream with SPF 42
The BB Cream is a great product for Spring and Summer because it gives you a very light coverage thus helping you achieve that natural makeup I have been talking about. At the same time it also gives you a light to medium coverage (which is buildable). It is therefore a great tool to obtain that flawless natural face we all dream to have. The best thing about the Missha BB Cream (as many others BB creams) is that it is light and has a high SPF which are both important during the warmer season. And this one is also cheap and it comes in about 6 shades. Plus, if you apply a light hand you are very likely to be able to use even darker shades. This is especially useful if you are very pale and want to give your face a slightly warmer appearance without getting the dirty clowny look which bronzer can sometimes give us (for all the pale women). For this exact reason I used shade 23 which is a natural beige (at least one shade darker than what I would normally use). It looked fine and just gave me that warm look to make me look alive. And I was able to skip my bronzer. The consistency of this BB cream is creamy, thus great for normal to dry skin but also for acne prone skin (as indicated on the package). It didn't cake and it didn't need powder on as it looked just a little dewy, exactly as I like my face to be. It stayed on for many hours although I had only applied a little bit where needed. If all of this is not enough for you, the M Perfect Cover BB Cream also claims to have whitening and anti wrinkle properties. So what else should we desire?.......May be an unscented version! Overall a great product which is also good value for money since it only costs 15 euros and it comes in a 50 ml tube.

How to wear Leather Leggings in Spring........

It's been one year since I wanted a pair of leather pants. I finally found them during the Winter Sales around February. However, I have never worn them because since they are leather on the inside too they don't keep you warm during the cold months. So now that the weather is warming up, I decided to give them a try.

As for most of my outfits, I looked online to get some ideas on how to style leather leggings/pants for Spring 2012 but I found nothing inspired. In fact, the only few runway looks featuring black leather pants were quiet hard looking (Balmain SS12). So I decided, to style them myself and after various pairings I came up with the following outfit.

The concept behind this outfit was to soften the hard rocker look which leather leggings tend to give by using feminine and soft pieces. I did so both in terms of patters and colours as well as fabric. What better way to soften the look with a sheer floral blouse featuring both pastel and bright colours as well as a light cosy waterfall long cardigan. I kept the accessories to a minimum wearing only some stud earrings. And I tied the look together using a statement belt which features 2 buckles.

 I am wearing....
Black leather leggings by Zara
A coral sleeveless top from Sicily
Floral sheer blouse from Stradivarius
Grey long waterfall cardigan from Dorothy Perkins
Black patent leather flat pumps from New Look
Double buckle white and rose gold belt from New Look
White and gold stud earrings from Tally Weijl
Cream scarf from an asian shop
My Moschino glasses
Multi-colour Nails (read this post http://alessiapearl.blogspot.com/2012/04/multi-colour-nailsspring-summer-2012.html)

Here are similar pieces to recreate this look.

How to wear red jeans........Spring 2012 Look 1

I am finally writing this post featuring my red jeans which I bought at the end of last Summer during my vacation in Sicily. I wanted to wear them before, but I thought they were too bright for Winter and so I ended up wearing for the first time last Sunday on a bright sunny day.....

The colour of these jeans is really nice, a mix between strawberry and poppy red which is so in this season. There are so many ways to style these jeans that I could wear it differently for at least one whole month. So I am really looking forward to wear it again and again, and it is so bright that it immediately makes me want to smile.

For the moment, I will show you the first outfit I put together featuring the bright red jeans. I wore it on a sunny Spring Sunday spent walking next to the sea and also window shopping inside a mall.....

What I am wearing.....
Bright red jeans from Terranova (size S which is not fitted enough)
White and Coral striped t shirt with black detail from Stradivarius
Black blazer from Terranova
Black skinny belt
Black leather flat pumps from New Look
Silver studs, necklace and bracelets
Black handbag

I love how the coral pink stripes go with the strawberry red jeans. And the black detail in the t shirt combines well with the black blazer, belt and shoes. The black accessories make this fun bright look slightly edgy and also tone down the brightness just a little. So I am really happy about how this outfit turned out especially since putting it together was so easy and fun.......
