First of all let's start by having a look at what few of our favourite celebrities have been wearing when catching their flights. Don't forget to check What to wear on holiday....
Let's use the above images as inspiration while thinking about a specific outfit for different types of destinations. When planning your airport outfits you want to consider how long you will be travelling before reaching your holiday destination, how much you are affected by the lower temperatures inside airports and on planes, and of course the destination itself and more specifically the temperature and weather conditions as well as whether it 's a busy cosmopolitan city, a warm beach town or resort or a cold location.
Let's start with the beach town/resort or anywhere by the sea. Below are some outfit ideas I put together for you. When I think about resorts maxi dresses and skirts come to my mind. Pair them with a simple top and a blazer, add some flat sandals and a few accessories and you have a glamourous yet relaxed outfit. If you want to be more put together for the airport and the arrival at the resort, you can go for a smarter dress like the white one and wear it with a coloured blazer and some neutral accessories. Don't forget your tote to fit all you need including a pair of sunglasses and your Ipad to keep up with my posts :)

If the destination of your holiday is a busy and cosmopolitan city like New York, Milan, Madrid, Tokyo or any other city which offers you loads of attractions and reasons to wander around, then your airport outfit should be modern, comfortable, put together but fun and colourful. The most important piece is to wear some flats or some wedges if they are comfortable enough to walk for many hours. A pair of lightweight trousers like the floral ones below or the skinny red pants should keep you warm on the plane and cool in the city you are flying to. Another way to stay cool is to wear a white top which is also a great piece to carry with you on your holiday. And then to look put together and have an extra layer wear a blazer, which will be very versatile to pair with both your day and night looks.
For those of you going somewhere colder like Auckland, Amsterdam, Dublin, Glasgow, or San Francisco among others the best airport outfit is one which includes a pair of comfortable and warm jeans, a jacket like a parka or leather jacket but also a ticker one like the Burberry tweed jacket. Layer a long sleeve light weight sweater underneath, take a scarf and wear a pair of flats and you are good to go and enjoy your cold vacation.
