Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review...

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know that I am seeing an increase in the number of visits to my blog especially the latest post so I am hoping that someone is finding the various reviews and talks interesting. You are always welcome to leave feedback.

In this review I am going to talk about my new pressed powder by Rimmel. In the beginning I was going to buy a loose powder and I was  trying to decide between Rimmel silky loose powder and Max Factor translucent powder. These are both transparent and thus come only in one shade but I wasn't sure whether they would help control my oily T zone so ended up buying the stay matte pressed powder by Rimmel. However, I will soon buy a loose powder and because I am liking the pressed one by Rimmel I might buy their loose one too.

The New Stay Matte Pressed Powder by Rimmel is a very good powder in my opinion. The colour goes well with my complexion as I got the first shade called transparent. This is a very light shade perfect for fair skins like mine. However, it still covers some of the redness on my cheeks even on its own that is without foundation and concealer. I have to say that I prefer it on its own as when combined with foundation or concealer it looks cakey. But I am sure the product making me cakey is my foundation (Body Shop moisturizing foundation) because when I wear only foundation my chin is cakes (this is the only area I get cakey).

I also like the consistency of this compact powder because although it is compact it is still very easy to apply and gets quiet loose once you pass the brush over it. For those interested I use the powder brush by Studio Basics and I find it perfect in terms of both size and application. The consistency is so good that it doesn't make my cheeks powdery or dry even if they are normal to dry areas. On my forehead and nose this powder works wonders as it covers any shine and removes oiliness leaving these areas of my face soft and matte for the whole day. The only area where I am not finding this product so good is my chin but this has become my most problematic area as all my face makeup looks good except in this area. It might be because it's more oily, it has some blemishes and the skin is a bit uneven.

My conclusion on this pressed powder is that is has the perfect shade for me and great consistency. So I would recommend it to anyone with normal skin who wants to look matte, anyone with combination skin who wants to fight the oily areas and anyone with oily skin who wants to have a normal to matte face complexion.

Have a great Sunday,

AlessiaPearl
