I hope you don't mind these fitting room edition series of posts I have been making. Most of them come with a chopped head because I usually have my hair up in a towel and no makeup. Also excuse untidy background but I was switching outfits in between taking pictures. And now onto the post....
Accessories -shoes, bags and jewellery - can make a big difference, and completely change the way an outfit looks. In this case, I am playing with accessorizing this black dress in different ways. And the result is a series of different looks: one modern, another slightly vintage, a more classic one, a nautical night time look and a more romantic one. So, depending on the occasion and time of the day, you can wear the same dress many times just by changing the accessories.
The reason I tried all the above options is that I was looking for the perfect look to wear for my husband's birthday dinner. So I figured I could share the various options with you. I think all of the above options are great ones, and this is only because the dress is a good piece. So if you want to have a flexible wardrobe which can transition easily through the 4 seasons and which also allows you to put together many outfits featuring the same pieces, you need to buy good basics. And what is more basic than a black dress - especially a flowy and simple black dress like the one I am wearing in this post? I actually wore the same dress for Valentine's, and you can see my outfit here. It looked great in Winter and because it is flowy I was able to wear more layers underneath to keep me warm when the temperatures were freezing cold. And now it looks great for Spring, actually almost Summer.
I hope you find this post useful, and don't forget to share your opinions on how to accessorize a black dress.
STAY FAB
great post!
