March: Transitioning into Spring.

This week I have really been into Polyvore. I have been creating one set a day. So I decided to share one of these new sets with you as my first post in this PRE-SPRING series. The inspiration board below features a pretty basic outfit. I think black and white/cream is a great colour combination when you want to look put together without trying too hard. It's also the perfect choice when you are not sure if you want to look casual or smart. In fact the pairing below is comfortable but at the same time chic and put together.

I am sure you all know that black and white is going to be huge this Spring and Summer. And I love to wear black during Spring because I know I won't wear it during Summer and most of Fall. The gold jewellery, cream bag and warm makeup help brighten the outfit and make it just perfect for daytime.

I would wear this outfit in a cosmopolitan city like New York for brunch, running errands or a casual day at work. I would keep my hair straight or pull it up in a sleek ponytail.

Mid Winter OOTD: A Cold & Rainy kind of day!

Before the end of this Winter I wanted to share with you my go to casual outfit for a cold and rainy kind of day. For me dressing up in Winter is not as fun as during Spring and Fall. The weather is so cold (at least for my body) which makes me just want to snuggle and cover up. So whenever I am running errands, visiting my family and just having a chilled day I like to wear thick and warm pieces which keep me warm and comfortable. Casual cute is the look I usually go for on a mid Winter day. Below is an inspiration board I created on Polyvore to show my typical casual outfit for cold and rainy days. The must have pieces for me are good quality high boots, a thick and waterproof jacket, a warm scarf and a pair of good quality leather gloves.

Classic Edgy Chic

Hard Chic

Hard Chic by alessiapearl featuring crossbody bags

The above look is a mixture of classic and edgy pieces. The pants and blouse are both classic and edgy. The black and white colour combo is of course a classic but it can also be modern and edgy when the pieces used to recreate it are simple, sleek and structured. The silver earrings and ring add extra edgyness. While the red shoes, while being modern and bright, they are also very feminine. And the clutch is a combination of edgyness and girlyness. Finally, but definitely not least, the piece which most makes this outfit stand out is the  black and silver studded collar necklace. I have been looking for a similar piece but have found nothing similar locally. What is great about the entire outfit, is that I could recreate it with clothing pieces which are all heavily discounted at Zara and Stradivarius. In fact I have seen similar pants for 16 euros and similar blouses for 19 euros at Zara during the sales. While a similar pair of shoes can be found on sale at Stradivarius. So if you like this look and would like to recreate it on a low budget you should check out the two shops I mentioned above. Below are the pieces I used to put together this look on Polyvore.

Colourful Back to School Outfit......Hanna Marin Inspired

For many of you, going back to school is just a matter of days. I remember when I was younger myself (actually only few years ago) and I used to either be very enthusiastic or sometimes sad about the beginning of a new scholastic year. I am hoping all you girls out there are looking forward to going back to school because this doesn't imply only going back to studying (which on its own is great) but it also means meeting your friends every day and spending some quality time with them. It means having a daily reason to get ready every morning and look great, feel great and be awesome in all you are going to do. One last tip before I get into this fashion post, is to not limit yourself to following only the scholastic program but also engage in as many extracurricular activities as you can manage. These will not only look great on your curriculum, but will provide you with extra life experiences and thus shape your personality and also give you extra opportunities to meet incredible people. So get excited and start planning your new scholastic year ahead, including your outfits!

Below is a set I have put together on Polyvore for all those girls who want to bring a little bit of Summer into their school days by adding colour to their outfits. Make sure you keep your look balanced and you always look put together and never show too much skin. You want to be stylish never tacky. For this colourful look, I took inspiration from one of Hanna Marin's outfits in season 3. I think now, with the sales going on, it's the best time to get these or other similar pieces by spending half the original price or even less.
