I cannot believe it's going to be Christmas in less than a month. This year has truly flown by and I am sure everyone has already started thinking about decorations, family dinners and Christmas gifts. In this post I want to concentrate on Christmas decor (Christmas tree, Christmas lights, and all those things which make our houses so festive and warm). Five great places to shop for your Christmas decor are Amazon, House of Fraser, Houzz, Light in the box and Target.
Here, in Malta, most people will have decorated their homes by the 8th December but the streets and shops will already be decorated by November. And what about you? When do you start decorating your house? Do you do it on your own, or members of your family?
This post is meant to inspire you with some Christmas decor ideas. Although many people like to decorate their house in the same way every year to keep a sort of tradition, many others enjoy changing colours, trees, lights and other aspects of their Christmas decor. I am among these latter. I love change and I try to change my tree decorations every year. However, to recycle and stick to a low budget I will try to use some of the previous year's decorations and only buy few new ones. This allows me to have a tree decorated differently every year without breaking the bank. Last year, my theme was gold and red with cream. This year who know what it will be. You can check my Christmas posts to get a glimpse of this year's theme.

1....Stick to the TRADITIONAL Christmas decor which mixes colours and all sort of decorations. This is ideal if you will be decorating with your whole family so that everyone can help without having to follow any rules......The result will be colourful and sure not boring!
2....GOLD & SILVER....Recent trends have seen us mix the two in outfits and also for our makeup. Therefore, why not do it for our Christmas decor?....Many might have already mixed the two with other colours in their Christmas tree. But the idea here is to only use gold and silver. You can also add some white or cream for a soft contrast.....
3....GOLD & BROWN . I know this might sound strange and not at all Christmasy, but it's something I have seen in a flower shop full of Christmas decorations. The tree was beige slightly golden and the decorations were dark chocolate brown. The best part about this is that you can hang real chocolate pieces together with your other decorations......

4.....BROWN, BRONZE, CREAM & GOLD. This is a great idea if you want to match your Christmas decor with the rest of your house decor when this latter happens to be based on earthy colours. It's elegant and rich without being too colourful and bold.
5.....ROSE GOLD, BRONZE & GOLD. This is very romantic in my opinion. It's girly but not too girly and it will look rich, yet soft and dreamy at the same time. Of course try to choose shades of rose gold, brown and gold which go well together. Their undertone should be rose pink.
6.....PLUM & SILVER.......This combination is still rich but bolder and more modern than the previous one. Shop here for purple baubles.
7.....My CONTEMPORARY Christmas decor idea for you is to combine one non Christmasy colour (like pink, baby blue, burnt orange) with 2 other Christmas basic colours like silver or gold and white or cream. Below you can see one combination using pink, silver and white. Other possible combinations can be baby blue, silver and cream;and burnt orange, gold and cream. I am sure you are already coming up with other great and fun combinations. Shop here for pink ornaments.
My last 2 ideas are for the modern ladies who want to follow fashion trends and runway style also in their Christmas decor.
8......THE TUXEDO TREND.
The Tuxedo Christmas tree will use shades of black, white and silver. You can buy the black and silver jewel box here, along with other great pieces.
9.....My last Christmas idea for you is a RUNWAY INSPIRATION. The stylist is Christian Dior. The colours combination includes burgundy, black and charcoal grey.
You can buy the Ho!Ho!Ho! ornament and many other fun pieces here.
I would love to get to know how you plan on decorating your home this Christmas. You can share your ideas with others in the comments.
STAY FAB this Christmas.
