It's been a while since I posted a makeup haul, the reason being that I have been buying few things at a time rather than all at once. So finally, here is a haul of the makeup I bought or received as a gift within the last 2 months.
I am going to describe each of the above products in brief.
Nail Polishes
I have been really into painting my nails since the end of summer, mainly because after having gel nails applied for my wedding I have really understood how much nice nails can make you look more put together. So after removing my false nails, I have been taking good care of my nails and I have been loving trying new nail polishes. Three last additions to my nail polish collection are chocolate fountain, movie star and rock the metal which are all Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polishes. Actually almost all my nail polishes are by Rimmel London. I really love them because they have a nice consistency, neither too thick nor too liquid, they dry fast and look very nice on plus they are super cheap. In fact, one can buy the small ones at less than 3 euros which is really a good price for the quality you get. Chocolate fountain is a really nice colour for fall and winter because it is deep and warm and it goes with most of the winter clothing colours - black, brown, cream, military green, old rose and many others. My husband gave me this for Christmas and it was a good surprise because I really wanted this colour but I had asked for another colour which looks metallic beige. As for movie star, this is a warm deep red with some gold in it which makes it look even warmer and I like to apply it on my toe nails. I really wished to wear this colour for the holiday season but have worn others instead. So I guess I will try it pretty soon. The last nail polish in the pictures is a light silver with name rock the metal. I bought this for a recent occasion (a golden anniversary surprise dinner which I organized myself) and initially I didn't really like it as I am not used to very metallic colours but I have to say that it really complemented my outfit. For those who are interested I will be posting soon an outfit of the evening plus makeup tutorial plus nails so you can get inspired if you have some event coming up.Lipsticks
I have always worn only lip gloss because I didn't really like how lipstick looked especially for everyday casual looks. In the last few months I have started experimenting with lipsticks and I have tried light browns and pinks. Only very recently I bought a bright red lipstick and a dark red brown one. I only wore them once because I still have to come up with a look which balances the bright/deep lips colour with a lighter eye makeup. Once I do come up with these looks I will post tutorials on them.
If you are wondering about the lipstick brands, the red one is by Cosmod Paris and the darker one is by Ladylya.
Eye shadows Palettes
I have to say that eye shadows are one of my most favourite makeup products. Because I am really into basic earth colours which complement my complexion especially for fall and winter I recently got 2 brown shades eye shadows palettes, one for me and one for my sister as a Christmas gift. As you can see this palette includes white, pinks, gold and copper shades and lots of browns and they are very pigmented. The best part is that it only costed 3 euros and I haven't had problems with these shadows so far. The brand is Lolitas and they are produced in Paris. Other palettes shades available are pinks, greens, blues, greys and deep reds and browns.
Another new eye shadows palette I recently got is this big black one in the pictures below which my husband bought me for Christmas knowing that I really wanted to have a big eye shadows palette.
They are so many colours and shades in it that I really get confused about which ones to use when I apply my makeup. The colours are not super pigmented but if you apply the darker one few times by patting them one you really get a nice result. The price (15 euros) was really worth all the colours you get. If you are wondering why I buy these super cheap makeup products, the answer is that I only splurge on face products like skin care and foundation. I also would like to get some high end powder and blushes. But for the rest I try to get good deals as I have pretty sensitive skin on my face but I don't get problems on my eyes and lips.
Blush Brush
I recently also got a blush brush as the one I had wasn't very good and when I applied my blush it didn't look nice. The new one is by Studio Basics and I really like it as it is cheap and does a good job. I also have a powder blush, eye shadow applicator and smudgier brushed by the same brand and they all do great in applying my makeup.
I hoe you liked this post and found the reviews helpful. Let me know if you need more info about them.
